What Did We Learn?

“Well, Paul, I must say this has been one of the most harrowing evenings I’ve ever spent in your company.”

“It wasn’t that bad.  Besides, we made a very important discovery.”

“What?  That you’re a lousy kisser?”

“I’m a lousy kisser?  Really?”

“Never mind.  Tell me what you think we discovered that’s so important.”

“Linnea!  We confirmed that I was a Paladin in my past life!  That’s important!”

“What makes you so sure we confirmed that?”

“How else would I have known they would go to Dey Hall after the cemetary?  I must have gone with them on that trip in another lifetime!”

“Linnea, what?  Why do you keep making that face?”

“It’s just strange for me to know you’re thinking this way.  You’re a scientist, Paul.  Why are you basing so much of this investigation on hunches and funny feelings?”

“Because I don’t have anything to go on besides hunches and funny feelings.  The only empirical evidence I can think of is in the sealed archives in the Coates Historical Collection.  Have you come up with a plan to get us access to those yet?”

“Possibly.”

“Excellent!  Tell me!”

“Not yet.  Not until I know for certain whether my idea will work.”

“Why can’t you just tell me now?”

“Because you’ll just go charging into the Historical Collection, completely unprepared, and get us both into serious trouble.  Trouble that cannot be avoided by grabbing me and giving me a big slobbery kiss!”

“So that was the problem with my kissing?  I slobbered too much?”

“Paul, I am going home.  Right now.  Get some sleep.”

“Hmmm.  Yeah.  I will.  Hmmmm.”

“Should I start trying something different with my tongue?  Why is it that Linnea is the only one to ever mention this?”

  1. I love how, amidst everything going on, Paul’s main concern is that Linnea called him a lousy kisser! Doesn’t he know that just means she secretly likes him? Haha, great update. These two crack me up…

  2. AWwww Paul is a slobbery kisser! LOLOL!!! That ending is making it hard for me to stop. I mean, I have to, obviously- cause that’s the end and all… but I don’t want that to be the END!! hehee. Paul + Linnea = EPIC WIN!

  3. Thanks, y’all.

You know, Mao, Paul actually surprised me with his concern over his slobber. He kept wiping his mouth on his own during the last two updates. So I guess it’s TRUE!

JMW, buck up. I should have the next Part ready in a couple of days. I would say tomorrow, but my inlaws are coming to visit. Argh!

  4. This was too funny. “Should I start trying something different with my tongue?” bwahahaha! 🙂

  5. Thanks, Penelope. I always appreciate a good bwahahahaha!

  6. Hehe, they are just too funny together! But I guess you should make them stay together in the end. You HAVE to! I mean if Paul is so worried about the way he kissed Linnea that must mean he kinda likes her. Well, I just have to say your writing skills are amazing and the picture taking is even more amazing! 🙂

  7. LOL at the waves! This is too funny 🙂 Can’t wait for more.

  8. Thanks, Una and Laura.
BTW – the waves are not nec. connected to the slobber.

  9. Ok, they re talking some important stuff here and he can only think on how to improve his kissing? just like some guy i knew in real life, tell them they are not good in stuff like that, they totally forgotten other normal serious stuff. Hurt his ego huh? Slobbery kisses, ha! ha!

  10. I love the dynamic between these two, it really makes the story and I’d like to see them end up together, but no time soon please…Paul should learn how to kiss first 🙂

  11. Thanks, Karen and Ann!

  12. Gah, guys really hate it if you tell them they do something wrong. It plagues them, lol. They just can’t wrap their minds around the fact they’re not the best at everything, I think its a macho thing. So I’m not surprised Paul was plagued with the ‘slobber’ part, hee hee.

I wonder what Linnea’s plan is?…..I hope they can find something.
